A little bit of music

I have realised that I have been writing in this blog for more than a year and I have hardly written anything about music, one of my daily inspirations and, certainly, something without which I could not live, since Most situations in my life can be (and are) read from a musical point of view. Here is a small selection of special songs:

1.- Numb, Linkin' Park. Probably one of the closest songs to perfection. Lyrics can also be applied to me in several occasions, the video reminds me Basel (one of the European cities where I would like to live for a while),... I cannot stop listening to it.

2.- Boulevard of broken dreams, Green Day. Probably one of the closest songs to perfection. I identify with its lyrics quite often. This time, the video says nothing to me, but the music, wow, the music seems made by some kind of supernatural being.

3.- Tender, Blur. A ballad which has everything a love song should have. Absolutely brilliant and touching. If one is not touched by this song, he will never be.

4.- Duality, Slipknot. A stream of energy into my ears, hard rock in essence, without needless additions. There are some other similar songs, but I just had to pick one.

5.- The Vermilion Part II, Slipknot. Hard-rock bands are supposed to make, from time to time, thrillening love songs. This one is really outstanding, believe me.

6.- Pump it, Black Eyed Peas. At first glance, it seems a song taken from a Taratino's film but it is not, my friend. Anyway, we are in front of a song full of rythm, of energy, of...

7.- She's a rebel, Green Day. A short song, as every rock song must be, full of energy and guitars, with no pause, and whose topic makes me thing in my ideal woman (if any).

8.- Stand by me, The Fugees. A classic, a masterpiece wonderfully sang by the Fugees. Lyrics are really a tribute to friendship and the music and everything is so beautiful.

9.- U2. I could not choose a single song by U2 as my favourite. Many of them are just anthems, which should be taught in schools: "with or without you", "one", "tryin' to throw your arms", "who's gonna ride your wild horses", "beautiful day", "I still haven't found what I'm looking for", "Miss Sarajevo",... Please, tell me to stop.

10.- Bells of freedom, Bon Jovi. Yes, Bon Jovi also has important songs and, in my opinion, he is one of the best rock singers of the last years. This is just a sample, taken from his last album, and I chose it because it is not a love song, where it seems he has been stereotyped.

All these music is at your disposal in YouTube (God bless it). About music in Spanish, I reckon I do not like it, but here are some songs to be taken into account: Esos ojos negros (Duncan Dhu), Gitana (Fabulosos Cadillacs), Matador (Fabulosos Cadillacs), Siguiendo la luna (Fabulosos Cadillacs), El Lado Oscuro (Jarabe de Palo), No puedo evitar (Duncan Dhu),...
