Back to Frankfurt

These days, due to a meeting at the ECB I had to attend to, I was back to Frankfurt, just less than one month before leaving it. The first thing I must mention is the weather I found there. When I left Frankfurt at the end of March, the scarf and the gloves were an important part of my clothing. Now, it was just the other way round, it was enough with a T-shirt and a sweater! It was unbelievable. And I could even see some children playing in the fountains (something that is quite common in summertime in Frankfurt).

Moreover, all the trees in the parks were full of leaves (what is normal in spring anywhere in the world), after six months of winter. In some places, it was quite similar to the jungle: there were so many leaves that they hardly left the sunlight come to the ground!

The first day, in a short walk to my hotel (Palmenhof, just in the best neighbourhood of the city and with nice prices), I found by chance the main building of Bundesliga (German Football League). If I had known it before (my Lonely Planet guide of Germany remains silent about it), I would have paid a visit to it, but now, it's just too late, grrrr!!!!! I also made a visit to Kaufhof, as I forgot the charger of my mobile phone and I urgently had to buy one, the third one for the same phone...

But all story short, I felt extremely happy in Frankfurt, having dinner in places I know, feeling in its streets as at home, because, after all, it was my home for ten months. Let's keep our fingers crossed for more trips to Frankfurt in the short-term.
