Life of Brian

Last day I was with Jen and I do not know why, but we started talking about "Life of Brian", the film by the Monty Phyton. This is a film about which I could write for quite a long time indeed.

First of all, it is an acid comedy, where religion does not end up in good condition. In my opinion, it tries to desmytify (do we have this verb in Shakespeare's language?) religion. Regarding it, I have often thought about how the film could be released, thirty years ago, in some catholic countries, Spain amidst them, without important problems.

Then, it is a comedy and it can be really, really funny. Some gags are just outstanding, like the one about the man who had not talked for years and whose mediation is interrupted by Brian, or the gag about the Suicide Squadron.

But, in my opinion, it also has a positive message, as explained with the song "always look on the bright side of life". Sometimes, when I am not feeling quite well, I think of this song and everything seems to go a little bit better.

Finally, the film is made with not many special effects and money, maybe aiming to show how talent is only ingredient needed when making a movie. One can say talent spreading around the Monty Phyton.

In conclusion, a remarkable film, which should be watched by every one of us.
